WHO WE ARE

To describe us in a capsule, we give disadvantaged children in Arizona the opportunity to learn the lifetime sport of tennis. What makes our program unique is that all aspects are professional quality and payment for lessons is in the form of classroom effort and citizenship.

Many of our children have never participated in a structured sports environment. High mobility rates within the schools make it difficult to sustain extended programs. Our goal is to challenge students to be excellent and reward them with session ending field trips. Words like 'sportsmanship', 'fitness', 'technique' and 'responsibility' take on a new definition.

Enthusiasts know that tennis builds character, confidence and work ethics. Every player has a story about how tennis has enlightened them to be successful in life.

PASS defines success as 'attaining significance in who I am'. How do we teach this complex concept to children? The simple answer: we let tennis be the vehicle it was meant to be and let the sport work its "magic". Teachers and players of the game can give testimonies that this statement rings true.
